Homemade hawthorn sauce
Overview
Hawthorn is grown in the north. My neighbor went back to my parents’ house to pick some hawthorn and gave me a big bag. I used half of it to make hawthorn sauce and the other half to dry the hawthorn slices. Hawthorn has a very good effect of promoting blood circulation and breaking blood. It can promote the elimination of garbage in the blood, speed up the body's metabolism, and achieve a slimming effect. It is also a good dietary therapy for patients with blood stasis type dysmenorrhea.

Ingredients
Steps
-
Wash the hawthorns, soak them in light salt water for half an hour, and then rinse them.
-
Remove the hawthorn stem and use the head of a chopstick to poke up from the bottom of the hawthorn to remove the hawthorn seeds.
-
Add cold water to the casserole and add the hawthorn. (Hawthorn must be cooked in cold water)
-
Bring to a boil over high heat and simmer over medium heat.
-
After about an hour, the sugar in the hawthorn has been boiled out and more than half of the water has been boiled away, so I add three spoons of rock sugar and continue cooking.
-
At this time, stir continuously with a spoon to prevent the hawthorn from sticking to the pot and crush the hawthorn.
-
After half an hour, when the rock sugar melts and the hawthorn becomes thick, turn off the heat.
-
Pour the cooked hawthorn cake into a bowl and let it cool, then put it into a clean bottle, seal it with a lid and store it in the refrigerator.
