My addition in romaine makes this more of a 'salad', and also because it is very low calorie and has a very high water content to help hydrate the body. It goes without saying that it's full of great nutrients. Red peppers are yet another anti-inflammatory and may also have anti-cancer benefits. The avocado was a last minute addition because well...who doesn't love an avocado? While it may be high in fat, they are healthy fat and well worth the calories. Avocados are great for the heart and are an anti-inflammatory, so much so. These sesame seeds are helpful little ones too! They are completely beneficial minerals that can help relieve arthritis. They also have vascular and respiratory health!
