Overview

It’s been a long time since I made glutinous rice balls and ate them. This year, I suddenly wanted to make glutinous rice balls for Lantern Festival. It would be fun to do it with my brother.

  1. Peel and dice the purple sweet potato, put it in a plastic bag, and heat it in the microwave on high heat for four minutes.

  2. Use a rolling pin to mash the microwave-heated purple sweet potatoes into puree and set aside. Add water to the purple sweet potato puree and turn it into a thin paste.

  3. Pour the glutinous rice flour into a basin, then add the potato puree. Do not add too much water at one time, add it little by little, and slowly knead the purple potato puree and glutinous rice flour together.

  4. Stir the black sesame seeds with a mixer, then add the white sugar and stir evenly.

  5. Take a small dough ball, press it lightly, then use your index finger to make a hole in the middle, add black sesame seeds, gently seal it, then roll it into a ball, and the glutinous rice balls are ready.

  6. Add sugar to the water. After the sugar dissolves and the water boils, add the glutinous rice balls. Wait for the glutinous rice balls to float before serving.

  7. Put the dried sweet-scented osmanthus in the bowl containing the glutinous rice balls, and then put the glutinous rice balls in it, so that you can eat the glutinous rice balls.
