Childhood memories----------------【Canned Hawthorn】
Overview
When I was a child, relatives often came to see the cans they bought in the cupboards of my grandparents, including hawthorn, peach, orange, and apple. When I was greedy, I would pester my grandparents to open the cans and eat them. My favorite food at that time was the canned hawthorn. It was sweet and sour and appetizing. The color of the soup was red and bright, making people feel sour water in their mouths when they saw it. I have liked eating sour things since I was a child, such as hawthorn, sour grapes, green apples, and sour oranges. Others frowned after eating these, but I ate them with relish. I have never seen hawthorns for sale in all the years I have been in Wuhan. Last year I saw some on the street. They were very small. I bought some and made fried red fruits. They were really delicious. A few days ago, I finally saw hawthorns for sale at the fruit shop at Gate 2 of the community. They were not big or small, and they looked very fresh, so I bought more than two kilograms. I had nothing to do at home today, so I thought of the hawthorn in the refrigerator and ate it quickly, otherwise it would be stale. I was thinking about what to eat, and I thought of canned hawthorn. I just did it, even if it takes a long time to remove the core, it’s worth it for this mouthful!
