Candied Osmanthus
Overview
Osmanthus is a traditional famous flower in my country, which has been loved by Chinese people since ancient times. Once the sweet-scented osmanthus blooms, the fragrance spreads thousands of miles away. Although it is an exaggeration, it is enough to prove that the fragrance of sweet-scented osmanthus is indeed very strong. In addition to beautifying the environment, sweet-scented osmanthus also has extremely high edible and medicinal values. The ancients said that Osmanthus fragrans is the best medicine. Osmanthus fragrans is warm in nature and pungent in taste. It enters the lungs and large intestine meridian and can be decoctioned, brewed into tea or soaked in wine for oral administration. It has the effects of warming the middle and dispersing cold, warming the stomach and relieving pain, resolving phlegm and dissipating blood stasis. It has certain effects on loss of appetite, cough due to phlegm, hemorrhoids, dysentery, and amenorrhea and abdominal pain. Every time the sweet-scented osmanthus blooms, some sweet-scented osmanthus candied fruits or candies are picked and sealed in bottles to maintain the aroma and used to make tea or as food spices.
