Overview

I started making nougat last year. My first attempt was a success and my confidence doubled. I made a lot of them as souvenirs for relatives and friends during the Spring Festival and received rave reviews. Today my wife took my students out for a competition, and they asked for the nougat I made. Well, let me cheer them on before the competition. I hope the boys will achieve good results in the competition. I will wait for your good news and treat you to barbecue when I come back. I made two flavors today (Matcha Almond) and (Cranberry Peanut), the taste is quite pleasant.

  1. Prepare the required ingredients

  2. Almond kernels have a salty taste, so when I bought them at home, I rinsed them twice with water and baked them in the oven at 180° for 20 minutes. I also roasted the peanuts in the oven at 150° for 15 minutes to increase the flavor.

  3. Keep the heat low throughout the process, put butter in the pot to melt, and pour in 200g marshmallows. Because the pot is small, you can only make 200g at a time.

  4. After the marshmallows melt in the pot, add the milk powder and stir evenly. Add the peanuts and dried cranberries and mix. Because it requires both hands to operate, I didn't take any pictures. I spread the finished product on the workbench with oil paper, poured the finished product into the oil paper, rolled it out with a rolling pin to a suitable thickness, put it in the refrigerator for half an hour, and then cut it into pieces.

  5. Cut it into pieces and wrap it in sugar paper (it’s really hard to wrap in summer, it melts as soon as you take it out of the refrigerator and starts to stick to your hands. It’s still suitable for making nougat in winter).
