Lotus root powder and osmanthus sugar cake
Overview
I haven’t posted this recipe until now because I have been looking for another fermented version of the recipe and wanted to try it. Later, after checking the old recipe, it really didn’t exist. I don’t know if this is the specialty dim sum of Meizhuang in "The Legend of Zhen Huan". However, the faint scent of osmanthus is a unique souvenir of this unique woman in my heart!

Prepare materials

Weigh the glutinous rice flour, lotus root starch and sugar, and mix the ingredients

Mix with water to form glutinous rice balls of suitable softness and hardness

Peel and slice the lotus root into thin slices, put it into a pot of sugar water and cook for 90 minutes until soft and waxy

Prepare a square box or mold, divide the glutinous rice dough into two equal parts, and place half on the bottom layer

Wipe the cooked lotus root slices dry and spread them flatly on the glutinous rice balls

Cover the other half of the glutinous rice ball with the lotus root slices, flatten them, and steam them for 30-40 minutes

Let cool and remove from the mold, spread with sugar osmanthus

Cut into diamond shapes and serve hot
