Steps
-
Soak red dates in water.
-
Clean the cordyceps flowers and soak them in water.
-
Cut Codonopsis pilosula into sections with scissors, soak in warm water for ten minutes, change the water and soak.
-
Wash half the hen.
-
Chop the hen into small pieces.
-
Heat hot water in the rice cooker, not too much, just enough to cover the chicken. After the water boils, pour the chicken in, add two spoons of salt, stir it slightly, and cook for fifty minutes.
-
After fifty minutes, pour in the Codonopsis pilosula and the water, boil the water again and cook for about fifteen minutes.
-
Then add the red dates and continue cooking for half an hour.
-
Pour all the Cordyceps flowers and soaking water in, stir it, and if you feel there is less water, continue to add water. The ratio of water to solids is about 3:1.
-
After boiling the water for about forty minutes, you can see that the originally off-white muscles have been dyed orange by the Cordyceps flowers. You can taste it at this time. If you feel that the taste of the soup is not enough, add a little more salt. I added a spoonful of salt, depending on personal taste. Then cook for about five minutes and serve.

Fragrant chicken soup, drink it while it's hot.
