Hat steamed buns
Overview
The single picture of the hat is the most satisfying one I have taken since I started making the recipe. It feels a bit three-dimensional.

Steam the pumpkin, peel it and blend into a puree (same goes for purple sweet potato)

Pumpkin puree, yeast and dough for proofing

Knead into dough

Cut the dough into pieces like dumplings

Roll out one piece of dough into a piece; roll another piece into a ball; and roll the third piece into a long strip.

Place the round dough on the sheet of dough and wrap a long noodle around the seam.

Use a mold to carve a bow

If you don’t have a mold, you can use chopsticks to clip a bow (this is another flat-top style hat)

Dip the bow tie into the juncture of the long noodles

Let it rise and steam it in a steamer (the time depends on the stove and the size of the steamed buns)

This is made from pumpkin puree and purple sweet potato puree.
