Prepare a plate of edamame.

Cut off two corners of the edamame with scissors.

Prepare star anise, Sichuan peppercorns, and dried chili peppers.

Wash the edamame with clean water.

Pour water into the pot, add edamame, star anise, chili, salt and oil and cook together.

After the water boils, simmer over low heat for 15 minutes.

Remove from pot and plate.
