Overview

Mangzhong is the ninth solar term among the twenty-four solar terms. It literally means that wheat with awns will be harvested quickly and rice with awns can be planted. During the awning season, crops begin to grow, and flowers begin to wither and fall. Therefore, there is a ritual of sending flowers to the God of Flowers, sending the God of Flowers home and expressing gratitude to the God of Flowers, hoping to meet again in the coming year.
