Rinse the new peanuts you just bought;

Prepare star anise, cinnamon, bay leaves, licorice and other aniseed ingredients;

Put the washed peanuts into the pot, add water to cover the peanuts and add aniseed;

Add twice as much salt as usual for cooking;

Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce to low heat, cover and simmer for twenty minutes;

Turn off the heat and continue soaking for more than four hours or overnight;

Soak the peanuts for a few hours and you're ready to eat.
