Sugar Roasted Chestnuts

My favorite is sugar-roasted chestnuts. When I go shopping to see the freshly baked chestnuts, I have to buy a pack and eat them on the go. It’s so satisfying. In the past, when I didn’t have an oven and couldn’t cook anything myself, my husband would always buy me a pack of fried chestnuts on his way home from get off work…

Prepare the ingredients, clean the chestnuts, drain them and dry them with kitchen paper.

Carefully use a knife to make small openings in the chestnuts.

Put the opened chestnuts into a large bowl, pour in a little corn oil, and mix repeatedly.

Pour into a baking tray lined with greaseproof paper, place in the middle rack of the oven, and heat up and down to 190 degrees for 20 minutes.

Take out the baking pan and brush it with hot water to break up the sugar.

Bake in the oven for about 5 minutes.
