When I was little, I saw Fuji melons for the first time at my third grandmother’s house. That year, her family planted two Fuji melons. The big one was covered with branches and vines. My third grandmother gave it to our family. That was the first time I ate this vegetable. When frying it, I boiled it with vinegar. The sour and crunchy ones are very delicious. Later, my mother planted a tree with the same branches and vines full of fruits. In the past, it was usually cabbage, radish, and beans. The beans are the dialect of our place and I have long been tired of eating cowpeas. Of course I like this rare thing.
