Sugar Roasted Chestnuts

Sugar Roasted Chestnuts

Overview

When I was a kid, chestnuts were a rare thing in our hometown! I remember that a family in our village had a chestnut tree in their home, which was a treasure! Whenever it was chestnut harvest season, their son would show off around the village with chestnuts, but he would never give one to us to try! If we want to eat, we can buy it for 50 cents each. Fifty cents was a lot of money in those days. Children from poor families like us couldn't afford it, so we could only look at it with helpless eyes and drooling! My sister has a very good relationship with their daughter. She sometimes secretly steals some chestnuts for my sister to eat. Fortunately, I can also taste the taste of chestnuts! That was probably the best food I’ve ever eaten in my life! ! Yesterday, a friend gave me a bag of home-grown chestnuts, and today I tried to make some sugar-roasted chestnuts! After tasting it, I seem to have found the taste of my childhood!
