Overview

This biscuit looks average, but tastes good, especially the layer of coarse sugar wrapped around the outside. It has a bit of a gritty texture when chewed, which I particularly like.

  1. Sift the flour and cocoa powder into a bowl, add powdered sugar, salt and vanilla extract

  2. Cut the butter into small pieces, put it in a greenhouse to soften and then put it in a basin

  3. Mix well with a spatula

  4. Then knead it repeatedly with your hands until the butter and flour are completely combined and become a smooth dough

  5. Then slowly roll the dough into a long cylindrical shape

  6. Wrap it in oil paper and put it in the refrigerator to freeze for about 30-60 minutes until frozen hard

  7. Take out the frozen dough and dip it in a layer of coarse sugar

  8. Then cut into small pieces about 1cm thick

  9. Place into a baking tray lined with greaseproof paper, leaving a larger gap

  10. Place in the middle rack of the preheated oven at 170 degrees and bake for about 13-15 minutes
