【Guangxi】Passion fruit honey
Overview
Passion fruit is native to Brazil, South America, and its main production areas are Hawaii, Florida and Australia in the United States. Its English name is Passionfruit, which means passion and love. Therefore, abroad, passion fruit is also called lover's fruit or love fruit. In the past few years, this passion fruit was introduced to Guangxi and other subtropical areas for cultivation. Because its juice is rich in nutrients and has a particularly fragrant smell, it can emit the rich aroma of bananas, pineapples, lemons, strawberries, peaches, pomegranates and other fruits, so it is called passion fruit. Because its juice is also the transliteration of its English name Passionfruit, it is also known as the king of juices and money tree abroad. Passion fruit is rich in amino acids, multivitamins, carotenoids, superoxide dismutase (SOD), selenium and various trace elements needed by the human body. Passion fruit is rich in protein, fat, sugar, vitamins, calcium, phosphorus, iron, potassium, and SOD enzyme. It is also known as the king of VC among fruits and has a unique taste (the seeds are crispy and delicious, and rich in nutrients). Passion fruit has very good health effects on the human body, such as health care, beauty, digestion, anti-aging, detoxification, heat clearing, etc. Because the taste of passion fruit is sour, some people don't accept the sour taste, so adding sugar or honey to make nectar is almost everyone's favorite. Today we will use passion fruit to make fruit honey. The prepared fruit honey can be eaten directly, drunk with water, or even made into cakes or served with bread.

Ingredients
Steps
-
Wash the passion fruit. I used about 1200 grams of passion fruit. Finally, I added sugar and honey based on the amount of pulp. The pulp was 600 grams
-
Cut a slit in one end of the passion fruit with a knife and scoop out the juice with a small spoon. It is best not to cut in half from the middle, otherwise the juice will flow out easily
-
Scoop the pulp directly into an airtight jar and add the seeds as well. Sealed jars should be sterilized with boiling water and dried in advance.
-
Crush the rock sugar and put it in. I didn't crush it too much, and it took three days to completely melt. If it was crushed a little, it would basically melt in one day. It is still recommended to break it up
-
Close the lid and shake vigorously to melt the rock sugar as quickly as possible. Soak in this way for a day, shaking constantly during this period to promote the melting of the rock sugar
-
Add honey the next day
-
Also cover and shake. If the rock sugar has melted, just shake it once or twice a day. If the rock sugar has not melted, shake it a few more times
-
This is fruit honey that has been pickled for 3 days. The rock sugar has completely melted and the seeds will float on top. You can scoop it up and drink it directly, or drink it with water.
-
Spread the thick pulp on the toasted bread slices and it will be delicious. Pair it with a cup of water brewed with fruit honey and enjoy it slowly
-
The skin of passion fruit can also be soaked in water to drink. I added water to the pulp and steamed it. The steamed water tastes better than soaking it directly
-
This is the water from the steamed peel, the color is pretty, right?

It will taste better if you add some fruit honey
