Overview
New Year cake~~~a traditional food of the Chinese nation and a seasonal food during the Lunar New Year. It is a steamed cake made from sticky glutinous rice or rice flour. During the Spring Festival, many regions in my country pay special attention to eating rice cake. New Year cake comes in three colors: red, yellow and white, symbolizing gold and silver. New Year cake is also called Nian Nian cake, which is homophonic with Nian Nian Gao, which means that people's work and life are improving year by year. Therefore, ancient people wrote poems about rice cake: rice cake means slightly cloudy, white like silver and yellow gold. I look forward to good times and good fortune as I age, and I sincerely and silently wish for wealth to come. Similarly, our neighbor, South Korea, is deeply influenced by our country's cultural traditions. On the first day of the New Year, the whole family must drink a bowl of rice cake soup, which represents the brightness of the new year's sun. My family loves Korean food, and I often make Korean delicacies; especially spicy rice cake is a frequent visitor.
