Homemade New Year Snacks-Lotus Root Candy

Overview

The carrot candies from the previous two days were well received. This time I presented the recipe of lotus root candies. My son wanted to eat them and my mother-in-law volunteered to buy the young lotus roots. However, I found that the bigger lotus roots are better to look at. The crispy sweetness of the lotus roots and the coating of icing sugar give it a unique taste.

  2. Slice lotus root and soak in water for later use

  3. After the sugar melts, add the lotus root and cook over medium heat, stirring.

  4. When the sugar thickens, continue stirring over low heat until sugar sand forms.

  5. After cooling, coat with sugar sand.
