Steps
-
Wash a grapefruit with salt and set aside. Prepare honey, rock sugar and a clean sealed jar.
-
After washing the grapefruit, leave the yellow skin and remove the white flesh inside! Soak the shredded yellow peel in salt water for ten minutes. Cut the grapefruit horizontally with a knife.
-
Blanch the soaked grapefruit peel for one minute.
-
Peel the pulp and set aside (cutting the grapefruit crosswise will eliminate the white flesh and reduce the bitterness).
-
Add the blanched skin and grapefruit flesh, rock sugar, and 200 ml of water, and start boiling over medium heat.
-
Remember to stir during the cooking process.
-
This is the state of cooking for 20 minutes.
-
It takes about 40 minutes to cook until it reaches this state. After it cools down, add honey and continue stirring! Be sure to add honey after cooling.
-
Store in an airtight jar in the refrigerator.
-
Take a spoonful at a time and mix it with warm water to drink. It is sour, sweet and slightly bitter. If you feel it is bitter, you can add more honey according to your personal taste.
