Osmanthus and water chestnut cake
Overview
The day before yesterday, I made pineapple cake using white jelly according to Yimei's mother's recipe, which can also be called pineapple jelly. The baby didn't like the pink texture, so he asked me to make the water chestnut cake again. What a pity for my pineapple, haha. So some improvements were made on the previous methods, mainly the boiling of osmanthus. The finished product was a hit! Now share it with everyone.

Steps
-
Prepare water chestnut powder and dried osmanthus. The amount of osmanthus in the picture is a bit too much, but you won’t actually use so much. Take control at your own discretion.
-
Add sweet-scented osmanthus to purified water and add an appropriate amount of sugar. Bring to a boil. Let the dried osmanthus soak. The amount of osmanthus in the picture is a bit too much, I think it could be less.
-
When boiling the osmanthus water, mix the water chestnut powder with a little water and set aside
-
Let the boiled osmanthus water cool slightly.
-
After the sweet-scented osmanthus water is boiled, let it cool down a bit (do not let it get completely cold). Add the well-mixed water chestnut powder and stir evenly until it becomes milk-like
-
Pour the mixed slurry into the container.
-
Steam in a basket until the slurry becomes transparent and solidified
-
Steamed.
-
After cooling, refrigerate for a few hours before slicing and serving. Finished product pictures
