Qiuli paste

Overview

Qiuli ointment moistens the lungs, relieves cough, promotes fluid production and soothes the throat. It is used for coughing and shortness of breath due to yin deficiency and lung heat, thick phlegm and saliva, fullness and tightness in the chest and diaphragm, dry mouth and throat, irritability and hoarseness. Qiuli ointment used to be a medicine exclusively used in the palace. It was not spread among the people until the Qing Dynasty when imperial doctors introduced it to the palace. It is autumn again, the harvest season of Qiuli, and it is also the dry season. If you have dry laryngitis, you might as well try Qiuli ointment mixed with water.

  1. Prepare all the materials, 5 autumn pears (about 1000 grams), 1 Luo Han Guo (about 30 grams), 40 grams of rock sugar, 30 grams of ginger, and 100ml of honey;

  2. Wash the snow pears, peel them, remove the seeds, and use a grater to remove the pear puree and juice. Wash and grate the old ginger;

  3. Wash the monk fruit, crush it, put it into the pot with freshly rubbed pear puree, pear juice, and shredded old ginger, and then add sugar;

  4. Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce to low heat and simmer for 30 minutes;

  5. Pour it out and filter out the residue through gauze;

  6. Continue to pour into the pot, cover and simmer over low heat until thick;

  7. Cool, add honey, mix well, and put into an airtight jar. To drink, just take a spoonful of warm water and mix it.
