Spiced edamame
Overview
Nowadays, edamame is on the market in large quantities, and the price has gone from 4-5 yuan per catty to 3 yuan per catty now. I quickly bought a few catties to take home. After the edamame is peeled and fried, it can be made into soy milk to drink, or you can boil it with the skin on and eat it as a snack. Today, I used aniseed to cook the edamame, and after soaking it for a few hours, it became particularly delicious.

Choose plump and fresh edamame

Prepare cinnamon, star anise, Sichuan peppercorns, dried chili peppers, and bay leaves

Boil water in a pot, add cinnamon and other ingredients and salt (the amount of salt should be larger), and bring the water to a boil

Add garlic, reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes to allow the aroma to dissolve in the water

Cut off both ends of washed edamame (for easier flavor)

Add the edamame, turn to high heat, stir while cooking (do not cover the lid, so the edamame will stay green), and cook for 12-15 minutes. If you want to make the flavor more delicious, you can soak the edamame in the five-flavored water for more than 1 hour.
