Northeastern stew
Overview
As a Northeasterner, I married in Beijing. Although the transportation is convenient, there are many reasons why I cannot reunite with my relatives. I miss my relatives and friends at home, especially the delicious food made by my mother, the fresh ingredients, the simple cooking methods, and the strong taste of family affection. I remember this Northeastern stew was cooked over firewood in a big iron pot when I was a kid. It tasted particularly delicious. Obviously, I can’t find an iron pot anymore, but it still tastes great when made according to the original method. The dishes are rich and delicious, the meat is fat but not greasy, the beans are delicious and fragrant, and the corn is covered with gravy and the fragrance lingers on your lips and teeth. It seems that you have returned to your childhood and your mother’s arms.

Ingredients
Steps
-
Wash the pork belly and cut into small pieces of even size
-
Blanch the blood in a pot under cold water, rinse it with warm water and drain it for later use
-
As shown in the picture, wash the corn and chop it into small pieces (not too small, don’t underestimate the corn silk. Corn silk is just a tea drink, which can protect the intestines and stomach and promote gastrointestinal motility)
-
Wash the beans, cut off the ends and tendons and set aside
-
Heat the pan with cold oil. When the oil is hot, add the green onions, shredded ginger, and stir-fry the star anise until fragrant
-
Add pork belly, pour in soy sauce and stir-fry for a while
-
Add an appropriate amount of warm water as shown in the picture (to prevent the meat from becoming firm due to sudden cooling and sudden heating), bring to a boil over high heat, pour in white wine, turn to low heat and simmer for fifty minutes
-
Add beans and corn and bring to a boil over high heat
-
Sprinkle some salt and continue simmering until the beans and corn are soft and ripe.

As shown in the picture, the delicious Northeastern stew is delicious, nutritious, simple and convenient, so hurry up and make it.
