  1. Blanch the pork ribs in cold water to remove the fishy smell, bring to a boil and then rinse with clean water.

  2. Add appropriate amount of water, ginger slices and chives to the washed ribs, cover and bring to a boil over high heat, then simmer slowly.

  3. After one to two hours, add the yam cubes, bring to a boil and then cook over medium heat for ten minutes.

  4. Dish out and sprinkle with chopped green onion.
