Steps
-
First mix warm water and yeast in advance, then divide 500 grams of flour into 3 portions. Add one-third of the flour to yeast water and appropriate amount of water and knead into a smooth white dough.
-
Add one-third of the flour to the steamed purple sweet potato, add yeast water and an appropriate amount of water and knead into a smooth purple sweet potato dough.
-
Add one-third of the flour to the steamed pumpkin and knead it into a smooth pumpkin dough (if the dough is still very sticky, please add an appropriate amount of flour until the flour surface is smooth and not sticky)
-
Place the above three doughs in a warm place to ferment until doubled in size.
-
When peeled open, clear honeycomb tissue can be seen. This means the dough is ready to rise.
-
.Fully deflate the three fermented doughs, then divide them into about 50-60 grams of dough, roll them into balls and set aside.
-
Roll the purple sweet potato and pumpkin dough into thin slices, and use a flower mold to press out the flower shape. (Any flower mold will do)
-
Dip some water and put it on the round dough in picture 6.
-
Knead a round dough with your hands and stick it on the prepared flower. Then knead a smaller round dough with your hands and stick it on the round dough. Use a toothpick to draw out the veins on the leaves.
-
Take the flower steamed bun in the picture as an example. If the dough below is purple, the flower is matched with yellow dough, and the center of the flower is matched with purple. The colors are well interlaced. This will look better.
-
This is the finished steamed bun embryo.
-
Put it in the pot and let it rise for 15 minutes. Pour in cold water. Bring to a boil, then turn to low heat and steam for 15 minutes. Continue to simmer for 5 minutes and uncover.
