Fried Yuanxiao
Overview
This year’s Lantern Festival will not eat boiled Yuanxiao. Instead, we will eat fried Yuanxiao. The famous Yuanxiao stalls in Xi’an Huimin Street have fried Yuanxiao. It should be okay to eat fried food once in a while. Tomorrow is the fifteenth day of the first lunar month. Let’s fry the Lantern Festival together!

Place walnut kernels, peanut kernels, and melon seed kernels in a baking pan and roast at 150 degrees.

Put the roasted and crushed various nuts into a bowl, and add cooked black sesame seeds.

Add honey, sugar, glutinous rice flour, and vegetable oil.

Form the filling into a ball.

Prepare glutinous rice flour.

Put the glutinous rice flour into the empty box. Dip the stuffing into water and put it on the glutinous rice flour. Close the lid and shake the crisper with both hands to roll the stuffing into the glutinous rice flour.

Then take it out, dip it in water and put it back into the glutinous rice flour and continue shaking. Coat the dumplings evenly with glutinous rice flour.

Heat oil in a wok.

Add yuanxiao and fry until golden brown. In the process of juicing, you need to use a toothpick to poke holes in the Yuanxiao.
