Overview
Honey-glazed glutinous rice lotus root, glutinous rice filled with lotus root, carefully prepared with osmanthus sauce and red dates. It is a unique Chinese dessert in the traditional Jiangnan cuisine. It enjoys a reputation for its sweetness, crispness and rich osmanthus aroma. Hangzhou's sweet-scented osmanthus glutinous rice lotus root is soft and sweet, and the lotus root from West Lake is the best among lotus roots. The equally famous Nanjing osmanthus-sweet lotus root is known as the four most humane street snacks in Jinling and Nanjing, together with sweet-scented osmanthus and taro seedlings, plum blossom cake, and red bean fermented dumplings.

Wash the glutinous rice and soak it in water for 2-3 hours. Wash lotus root

Wash the lotus root and remove the skin

Use a knife to cut off two or three centimeters from one end of the lotus root and the lotus root pedicle, leaving it as a lid. Fill the soaked glutinous rice into the lotus root, and use chopsticks to make it firmer while filling.

Put glutinous rice into the lotus root eyes.

Cover the lotus root stems with the lid and secure the seal with toothpicks.

Put the stuffed glutinous rice lotus roots into a pressure cooker, pour water to cover the lotus roots, and add brown sugar, red dates, and rock sugar inside.

After steaming for 25 minutes, the cooked glutinous rice and lotus roots are taken out and allowed to cool slightly before being sliced and eaten

When eating, drizzle the honey juice mixed with sugar osmanthus and honey on top. It tastes delicious.
