Black sesame glutinous rice balls with blueberry filling
Overview
During blueberry season, I made some jam and wanted to use it with toast for breakfast. But since I made the blueberry jam, I haven’t found time to make toast. In order to consume the blueberry jam, I made this glutinous rice ball. Traditional glutinous rice balls are stuffed with bean paste. If you want to make your own jam filling at home, you need to use a relatively dry jam to shape it.

Add a little sugar to the flour and an appropriate amount of warm water to knead into a soft dough.

Cover the dough and let it rest for 10 minutes.

Take this time to prepare black sesame powder. Black sesame seeds and a little sugar.

Place in a blender and beat until powdery.

Divide the relaxed dough into two parts, shape one part into a long strip and divide it equally into 8 parts.

Take a portion of the dough, roll it into a ball and flatten it, then add blueberry jam and form it into a round shape.

Take a flat plate, apply a thin layer of oil, and place the prepared glutinous rice balls on it. Then put it into a steamer with boiling water and steam over high heat for 6 minutes.

Take out the steamed glutinous rice balls and roll them in black sesame powder before placing them on the plate.
