Potted Dessert

Potted Dessert

Overview

The weather is so hot. I have looked through all the baking books, but I don’t want to start with any of them. Let’s prepare to make the most basic chiffon. After making a brown sugar ginger chiffon. Unexpectedly, the mold removal failed. Is it because I haven’t done chiffon for too long? Or is it because it’s my first time using this hollow plum blossom mold and I can’t master the demoulding? Anyway, I am crazy about this chiffon cake. I felt extremely uncomfortable. Looking at the green plants at home, I suddenly thought of potted plants. I happened to have Oreos and ice cream at home, so I made an edible potted plant.

Steps

  1. Crush the brown sugar first

  2. Sieve it again, making it a little finer, because brown sugar clumps more strongly

  3. Wash the ginger and grate it into fine pieces on a cleaning board. Then pour a little bit of water into the bowl and soak the ginger in it. Only 5ml is enough, which is enough for our usual spoonful, light yellow ginger juice. If you have candied dates, you can chop 2 of them and prepare them

  4. Prepare 2 eggs

  5. Add 20 grams of brown sugar to the egg yolks and mix evenly with a hand mixer.

  6. Add 30ml of corn oil

  7. Add water and ginger juice in turn and mix well

  8. Sift 40 grams of low-gluten flour and use a rubber spatula to stir evenly into a particle-free batter. If you have prepared candied dates, you can stir in the chopped candied dates.

  9. Mix well and leave it aside.

  10. Start beating the egg whites. First add 2 drops of white vinegar to the egg whites, beat with an electric egg beater until 2 times thick, then add 30 grams of brown sugar in three batches, beat until stiff peaks, like mousse.

  12. I have made bread with this mold before, and it was very sticky. Today I applied a layer of oil to prevent it from sticking, but it is still very sticky, and the demoulding failed.

  13. First add one-third of the whipped egg whites into the egg yolk batter and mix evenly

    Potted Dessert step 13
  14. Then add half of the egg whites into the egg yolks and mix evenly. Finally, pour all the mixed egg yolk paste into the meringue bowl and mix evenly.

  15. Pour the mixed egg yolk batter into the mold, place it in the middle and lower racks of the preheated oven, heat up and down, 140 degrees, 40 minutes

    Potted Dessert step 15
  16. Immediately after taking it out of the oven, turn it upside down and wait for it to cool before demoulding. I was so impatient that I demoulded it when it was very hot, so it failed gorgeously.
