Sugar-coated haws
Overview
I have always liked eating candied haws, but I couldn’t buy yam beans, so I made hawthorn candied haws.

Wash the hawthorns, remove the stems and put them on a plate for later use.

Cut the hawthorn in half crosswise with a paring knife and remove the core.

Cut the banana into thin slices and stuff it into the hawthorn; squeeze an appropriate amount of bean paste into the hawthorn; chop the almonds into hawthorn;

Use three toothpicks to pierce the hawthorns of various flavors and place them on a plate.

Plate all the hawthorns with matching flavors.

Pour the soft white sugar into the pot, add water and bring to a boil over high heat. Turn to low heat and simmer until yellow bubbles appear in the sugar water. Dip the hawthorns in the sugar one by one.

Take out the hawthorn dipped in sugar, put it on tin foil dripping with cold water and let it cool before eating.
