Bird's Nest and Peach Gum Nourishing Soup
Overview
There is an idiom called "picking up people's teeth and wisdom", and now it has completely become "eating swallows' teeth" ~ A bird's nest is the nest of a swiftlet, but more straightforwardly, it is its saliva. Don’t be frightened, this is no ordinary saliva. Swiftlets lay eggs in March and April every year. Before laying eggs, they fly over the sea and high in the sky every day, sometimes up to thousands of meters high, passing through clouds and fog, sucking rain and dew, and eating insects. After digestion, they dig into steep, shady, high-altitude cliff crevices and deep caves, and spit to build nests. It takes about 20 days to build, so this is the essence of it! I just happened to pick the last season of peach gum this year, so I feel safe picking it myself! Paired with bird's nest, red dates, longan and black dates, it's a nourishing symphony!

-
The peach gum picked by myself is crystal clear~
-
Peach gum is very rare in autumn, and there are just a few on the whole old peach tree... The natural air-dried peach gum has a good hardness, so it needs to be soaked at least a day in advance;
-
After a day and a half, it became like this. Carefully use tweezers to remove the peach bark and dirt inside;
-
Rinse the bird's nest and soak it in an appropriate amount of water;
-
After a few hours, it had soaked several times and opened when I touched it with my hand;
-
Then tear it into strips;
-
Add a little peach gum to the porcelain bowl or stew pot;
-
Add about half of the bird's nest;
-
Then pour in the water used to soak the bird’s nest;
-
Put in the dried red dates;
-
Put in the dried longan;
-
Add a black date;
-
Then add water to the rice cooker and put the small porcelain bowl in;
-
Cover it with a porcelain plate, then simmer over water for half an hour to forty minutes!
