For fresh pork purchased in supermarkets or markets, plum blossoms are generally used for barbecued pork, but I personally think the meat is slightly fatter and tastes better, so I choose pork belly. After washing, wipe off the water and remove the skin.
-
The barbecued pork sauce I use here is ready-made, so there is no need to prepare it yourself. I use the brand of Lee Kum Kee.
-
Spoon 2 tablespoons of barbecued pork sauce over the meat.
-
Add another tablespoon of light soy sauce.
-
Finish with a tablespoon of honey.
-
Mix all the seasonings evenly with your hands and allow the meat to marinate for at least one night to fully infuse the flavors.
-
Cut the marinated pork belly in half and spread evenly on a baking sheet lined with tin foil.
-
After the oven is preheated in advance, place the baking sheet on the middle shelf of the oven, set the temperature to 200 degrees, and bake for 15 minutes.
-
Fifteen minutes later, use chopsticks to turn the meat over in the baking pan. Keep the temperature at 200 degrees and continue baking for 15 minutes. If the meat is a little dry at this time, you can apply a layer of pre-marinated gravy on the surface with a brush. Each oven brand is different. The temperature and time are for reference only. Be careful not to overbake, otherwise the meat will easily become mushy.
-
The roasted meat can be sliced after it cools slightly.
-
Top the sliced barbecued pork with eggs and green vegetables, and a delicious bowl of honey-glazed barbecued pork is ready to serve.
