Pineapple cake
Overview
Taiwan's pineapple cakes, with their crispy outer skin and sweet but not greasy pineapple filling, have the characteristics of combining Chinese and Western styles. Even Westerners appreciate them, so they have gradually become one of the most popular Taiwanese souvenirs for tourists outside the island. In addition, the fillings of pineapple cake and phoenix cake are somewhat different in taste. Pineapple cake has a sweet filling, while phoenix cake has a salty-sweet filling. Adding some salted egg yolk to the pineapple and winter melon filling will give a better taste.
