Spicy Fish Balls in Clear Soup

Spicy Fish Balls in Clear Soup

Overview

Sometimes I cook a portion of plain hot and spicy soup for breakfast. It is simple, quick and nutritionally balanced. A bowl of spicy hot pot is complete with staple food, vegetables, meat and soy products. It is a good choice for breakfast. If you are in a hurry, replace the fish balls with eggs or other meat. When you have time and leisure, it’s not bad to buy a piece of fish and make some homemade fish balls.

  5. Add salt and onion ginger water in three batches and stir the fish paste in one direction until the fish paste becomes sticky.

  6. Boil a pot of water, turn off the heat, shape the fish paste into small balls and add them to the pot quickly. You can continue to heat over low heat during the process, but do not let the water boil, otherwise the fish balls will be easily scattered.

  7. Process the other ingredients: wash the bean sprouts, slice the potatoes, cut the yuba into sections (soak the yuba in water in advance), cut the cabbage into cubes, slice the ginger, cut the scallions into sections and mince.

  8. Change a pot of water, add ginger slices and green onion segments and bring to a boil. Add potatoes and other ingredients and boil again until all ingredients are cooked. Add the fish balls cooked earlier, season with salt, remove from the pot, and sprinkle with chopped green onion. Serve. (I cooked it very lightly this time and didn’t even add oil, so the finished product was not bright and shiny enough.)
