Mung bean, lily and barley porridge

Overview

Great Heat is the twelfth solar term among the twenty-four solar terms in a year. Every year on July 23 or 24, when the sun reaches 120 degrees of ecliptic longitude, it is the "Great Heat" solar term. In ancient my country, the Great Heat was divided into three periods: "The first period is when the rotten grass becomes fireflies; the second period is when the soil is moist and the heat is soothing; the third period is when it rains heavily." There are about 2,000 kinds of fireflies in the world, divided into aquatic and terrestrial fireflies. Terrestrial fireflies lay eggs on dry grass. During the Great Heat, fireflies The eggs hatch out, so the ancients believed that fireflies were transformed from rotten grass; the second period means that the weather begins to become hot and the land is very humid; the third period means that heavy thunderstorms often appear. This heavy rain weakens the summer humidity and the weather begins to transition to the beginning of autumn. The Great Heat solar term is the hottest solar term of the year. The ancient book "Explanation of the Twenty-Four Solar Terms" says: "The Great Heat is the extremely hot season." This is enough to illustrate how hot this solar term is. The reason why the "Great Summer" period is extremely hot is because since the beginning of summer, the ground has absorbed more heat from the sun during the day than is emitted at night. The heat has continued to accumulate. During the Great Summer Period, the accumulated heat has reached its peak, so the Great Summer Period is the hottest. Due to the hot weather in summer, it is easy to damage body fluids and consume qi, so medicinal porridge is often used to nourish the body. A correct diet can help the body resist the invasion of heat and humidity. Eat more winter melon, barley, poria, yam and other foods. It is best to use these ingredients to make porridge or soup. If you already feel dizzy, you can also use aromatic plants to relieve dizziness. For example, fresh Patchouli leaves, mint leaves, Perrin, etc. are used to cook soup or porridge.
