Stewed Pork Belly with Potatoes and Beans
Overview
Such a dish is very familiar to people living in the north. Stew pork belly, potatoes, and beans in a big pot, and add two steamed buns per person, and the whole family can eat deliciously around the pot. In the past, we used earthen pots at home. When stewing this dish, you can stew a large pot, which not only contains potatoes, beans, and pork belly, but also other ingredients. When it comes out of the pot, it is served in a small pot, and the top pot of vegetables is placed in the middle of the table. The whole family eats it deliciously, but it is not something that is often eaten, after all, meat was quite expensive at that time! But at that time, pork belly was cheaper than lean meat. Unlike now, good pork belly is much more expensive! Potatoes and beans are both ingredients harvested in this season. Every October, this dish is eaten more frequently at home. But my mother used to cook it for us, but now I cook it for my family! Potatoes and beans are suitable for long-term stewing. This dish is the most fragrant when made with pork belly. After simmering for an hour, the meat flavor is mixed into the potatoes and beans. I added some dried radish pickled by my mother to make it taste even better.

After 40 minutes, when the meat is almost simmered, add the processed potato cubes, beans, and garlic into the pot;
-
Stir-fry and continue to simmer until the potatoes and beans are cooked, making sure to stir-fry halfway;
-
When the potatoes and beans are almost ready, put an appropriate amount of rock sugar in them, firstly for seasoning, and secondly to help absorb the juice; then you can take them out of the pot;

The fragrant pork belly stewed with potatoes and beans is ready to serve. Such a big bowl will be eaten up quickly! A standard meal!

Stews are particularly popular in the north, probably because of the climate in the north. When the weather is cold, everyone wants to eat something hot. All kinds of ingredients are stewed in one pot, and the family gathers together to eat with their mouths full of oil. That is called satisfaction! Different types of ingredients are perfectly mixed in one pot to create a delicious dish. Perhaps, this is the taste of home!
