Cut the chili pepper and garlic into small dices as shown.

Soak the bitter chrysanthemum in light salt water for 20 minutes.

Drain the soaked bitter chrysanthemum, add light soy sauce, chicken essence and sesame oil, mix well and add garlic as shown.

Heat oil in a cold pan, add sliced chilies and sauté until fragrant.

Sauté the Chaotian pepper until fragrant and pour the oil on top of the pre-mixed bitter chrysanthemum. (Note, it must be poured on top of the minced garlic to make it fragrant)
