Spiralized French Fries with Seaweed and Mint Leaves and Himalayan Sea Salt

Overview

French fries are a snack that both adults and children love. The classic French fries on the market are mixed with some salt and eaten with ketchup; some are topped with cheese sauce and eaten as a dip. Today I chose American frozen spiral fries and cooked them with mint leaves grown at home. I like the taste of spices, such as mint leaves, basil, rosemary, thyme, etc.; but my husband is afraid of the taste of mint leaves, so today I specially used mint leaves to go with French fries. The mint leaves are fried until crispy, and the preparation method is similar to fried tempura. After the mint leaves are fried, my husband eats them and says that he will use this method to eat mint leaves in the future. Cooking the mint leaves in this way can reduce the strong taste of mint, and it is really nice to have a light mint aroma in the mouth. Spiral fries are also one of my favorite fries, because the taste of spiral fries is very full; they are more delicious than French fries, and with the addition of seaweed powder and mint leaves, the taste is no longer monotonous and adds another flavor.

  4. Take out the mint leaves from the flour slurry and drain the excess flour slurry slightly; this can reduce the splash of hot oil when frying. Then put the mint leaves into the oil and fry for about 20 seconds until the mint leaves float and take them out.

  5. Continue to put the frozen spiral fries into the pan and fry until golden brown, frying in three batches to avoid lowering the heat of the oil and causing the fries to not be crispy enough.

  6. After the fries are fried, remove them and put them on a plate. Place a piece of kitchen paper or oil-absorbing paper on the plate to absorb the excess oil.
