Overview

Huisha is a cooking method of Chaozhou cuisine. It involves melting white sugar into syrup and then adding fried ingredients into it, allowing it to cool and solidify until the syrup coating the ingredients turns into white frost.

Steps

  1. Add flour and eggs, knead into a dough of moderate hardness, let it rest for half an hour, roll into thin slices, cut into strips first and then into cubes

  2. Heat the oil in a pan, break up the dough pieces and put them in one by one to fry

  3. Fry over medium heat until the surface swells and both sides are golden brown. Drain out the oil

  4. Pour out the oil, add an appropriate amount of sugar and water, and simmer over medium heat until the syrup bubbles and becomes a bit thick

  5. Put the freshly fried dough slices in, stir-fry quickly so that each dough slice is covered with frost, and put it on a plate
