Salt Roasted Spiced Peanuts – a healthy snack for your desk
Overview
Recently, I have been craving for five-flavored peanuts, maybe because of the Chinese New Year. When I was a child, my father would cook a big pot of peanuts every New Year. Every time I ate, I would take a small plate to cool it, and it tasted great. At that time, as long as it was cooked and not roasted, it could only be eaten as a cold dish. Now, for the sake of convenience, I bake it in the oven. It is more convenient to eat~~The taste is still the same as when I was a child.

Ingredients
Steps
-
Wash the peanuts and soak them in water for 20 minutes.
-
Put the soaked peanuts into a small pot, add double the amount of water for the peanuts, add star anise, cinnamon, bay leaves, pepper, salt, start boiling the cold water, and then boil for 20 minutes after the water boils. There is also 3 times more salt than usual;
-
Bring to a boil over high heat and cook over low heat.
-
In order to make the peanuts more flavorful, I put them directly in the pot and let them cool down.
-
Drain the cooked peanuts and place on a baking sheet lined with foil.
-
Bake at 160 degrees for 40 minutes. Take it out and turn the peanuts after 20 minutes.
-
If you like it dry, grill it more often. The one I grilled is not very dry, so I don’t get angry when I eat it.
