Curry baguette cup - mix and match to create delicious food
Overview
I suddenly wanted to eat French bread these days. I originally wanted to make it on the weekend, but I couldn't hold it back today. I prepared all the ingredients for the bread at home at noon, put it in the bread machine, used the reservation function, and set the time. When I came back from get off work, the first batch was just finished, and I could do the second batch. This time is a great match~! I originally wanted to make this bread according to the standard baguette recipe, but the baguette is too watery and difficult to shape, and usually requires the use of old noodles, so I had to give up. As for the recipe this time, I adjusted it myself based on the recipe of Zeng Meizi’s red wine European buns. The amounts of various ingredients have been changed. When I was making it, I was worried that the result would not be good. After all, no old noodles were used, but the result of the finished product was unexpectedly good. It was crispy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. Even my mother who doesn’t like bread said it! If it were just an ordinary European baguette, it would still feel a bit monotonous. I thought that I had seen someone using French cup-shaped bread to serve cream soup, and my inspiration burst out in an instant. Since cream soup can be put in, I can also put other things! Ever since, today’s curry baguette cup was born in such a gorgeous way~! ! Give yourself a big thumbs up! ! Since I got this new bread machine, I have also developed new tricks for one-touch bread. Take the Japanese style bread program as an example: When I was making one-touch bread, I observed and recorded the time when the bread machine performed each step. In this way, I can use the bread machine to directly complete the first batch without having to constantly observe the state of the dough at different times, and directly enter the step of manually shaping the second batch. This one-click method saves me a lot of time and makes making bread an easy task. At the same time, for an office worker like me, I can use the bread machine to make a reservation and make handmade bread when I get home from get off work. It is really convenient. Today, I put the ingredients in the bread machine at noon and made a reservation. The time is fully utilized~! ! That’s it, no more nonsense, let’s start making bread!

Ingredients
Steps
-
Put 190g of water, 15g of sugar, 15g of butter and 6g of salt in the French bread ingredients into a bread barrel.
-
Put the flour on top of the liquid, then dig a small hole in the flour, and put the dry yeast in the small hole. Be sure not to let the yeast come into contact with the liquid. This step is very important. Of course, if there is no need to reserve a time, the order in which these ingredients are put in does not matter.
-
Place the bread bucket on the bread machine, select program 2 "Japanese style bread", then set the time I need to complete, then press the start button, and the bread machine will start the reservation work. If you are kneading the dough directly and do not need to reserve a time, it is best to set the timer on your mobile phone and observe the bread machine after one and a half hours.
-
The bread machine has completed the first cycle and exhaust. At this time, long press the start button and the bread machine will stop working. Take out the bread bucket and turn it upside down on the chopping board. The dough will automatically fall onto the chopping board. (This recipe is sticky to your hands. You can apply some oil on the chopping board and hands in advance, so that it will not stick to your hands or stick to the chopping board. Plastic surgery will be stress-free instantly.)
-
Gently stretch the dough little by little until the thickness is even, then divide it into 6 parts of basically the same size. (You can also divide it into 8 portions according to your preference, and you can freely adjust the size.)
-
Shape the divided dough into a round shape and place it on a baking sheet lined with greaseproof paper for secondary fermentation. Put a bowl of boiling water in the oven to allow a higher humidity in the oven, put the baking sheet into the oven, and allow the dough to ferment for the second time in a relatively humid environment. While the dough is fermenting for the second time, start making the curry
-
After fermenting for about 30 minutes, the dough will have roughly doubled to its original size. Take out the dough, use a sieve to spread a thin layer of flour on the dough, and then use a knife to make a cross on the dough (you can omit this step if you don’t want to do it, but it will have some impact on the appearance, but will not affect the taste and quality of the bread), and ferment for about 5 minutes. At this time, the oven is preheated to 170 degrees.
-
After the oven is preheated, put the dough into the oven at 170 degrees in the middle for 20 minutes. Use a baking bowl to hold some boiling water on the lower floor to maintain humidity.
-
minutes later, the bread is out of the oven! ! The color of the bread crust is very good, the crust is slightly hard, soft to the touch and very elastic.
-
The internal structure is also quite soft, with the large holes unique to the French bag.
-
Curry can be made in advance or while the dough is in the second batch
-
Cut the potatoes into small pieces less than 1 cm long, which will make them easier to cook and easier to put into bread in the next step. Cut onions and carrots into pieces with a side length less than 0.5 cm. Then add oil to the pot, stir-fry the onions in hot oil until the onions become slightly soft, add the potato cubes and carrot cubes into the pot and stir-fry.
-
Stir-fry the potatoes until they turn slightly yellow, add water and start to simmer. After the water boils, add the curry cubes. After the curry cubes are cooked, stir-fry evenly. Turn to low heat and cover with a lid to continue simmering. During the simmering process, you should add the appropriate amount according to the water condition, and be careful not to burn the bottom of the pot. This time I used a total of 4 small pieces, and only 2 pieces were photographed in the picture.
-
Cook until the potatoes are tender but not completely soft, then add the beef and continue cooking until the potatoes become soft and tender, then the juice can be collected and removed from the pot. Since the curry cube I used is very flavorful, generally speaking I don’t need to add other seasonings. You can adjust it according to your own taste and the taste of the curry.
-
Open about a quarter of the baguette, cut off the top, and scoop out the lower part of the bread. Do not dig out the wall of the baguette cup too thinly.
-
Put the lid and baguette cup into the oven at 160 degrees for about 6 minutes. As long as the outer skin is relatively hard, it can be taken out of the oven. Be careful not to bake it for too long, otherwise it will be hard and the taste will not be so good.
-
Let the baked bread cup cool slightly, put the cooked curry into the cup, and you're done! ! ! Hurry up and enjoy the delicious food~! !
-
Take a bite, it's fragrant on the outside, soft on the inside, and has the rich taste of curry, it's great~!
