Preparation materials: Wash millet, peel and cut yam into pieces (wear gloves, peeling with bare hands will make the yam liquid sticky to your hands and it will itch), wash red dates;

Add water to the soup pot and bring to a boil, then pour in the millet;

Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce to medium to low heat and simmer for about 15 minutes;

Add yam and red dates, cover and simmer over low heat;

Simmer over low heat for about 25-30 minutes until the millet is thick and the yam is soft.
