Prepare ingredients

Mix powdered ingredients. If making it in winter, you can mix half of the cornmeal with water to make it sticky the night before.

Add water in one direction and mix into a slightly runny consistency. Mine is a bit thin.

Cover with plastic wrap and ferment until doubled in size.

Put the jujubes in the pot with cold water, steam over high heat, and continue to steam for 20 minutes after the steam is released. Turn off the heat and open the lid after 5 minutes.
