Fancy glutinous rice balls
Overview
The Lantern Festival on the 15th day of the first lunar month is here, so I made some fancy glutinous rice balls today, but I didn’t have glutinous rice flour and fillings at home, so I had to use local materials. I put a bag of glutinous rice in a food processor and beat it into glutinous rice flour. I roasted a few purple sweet potatoes and mixed them with condensed milk as filling.

Use a food processor to grind the glutinous rice into glutinous rice flour.

Slowly add boiling water to the glutinous rice flour in small amounts and several times, and stir gently with chopsticks.

Knead the dough with your hands to make a glutinous rice dough, and prepare four colors of baking powder.

Divide the dough into 5 parts, and knead four parts with purple sweet potato powder, pumpkin powder, matcha powder and cocoa powder respectively to form dough of five colors. Wait for a while.

Wash the purple potatoes and roast them in the oven or air fryer.

Add condensed milk.

Crush and stir, and add condensed milk to moisten the purple sweet potato puree, increase its viscosity, and add a milky flavor to the filling.

Roll a piece of glutinous rice dough into a round shape and flatten it, then wrap the filling into the glutinous rice dough.

Use a cookie cutter to make flowers from another color of dough.

Then use other colors to make the flower center.

It looks like everything is done and colorful.

Cook in boiling water.
