My hands when washing and handling the fish were too dirty, so I didn’t take any pictures. Heat oil in a pan, sauté onions and ginger until fragrant

Add fish, fry on both sides, add peppercorns and star anise

Cook in cooking wine, add appropriate amount of light soy sauce and salt, and add bean paste

Add an appropriate amount of water and bring to a simmer over high heat. When simmering over medium heat, you can pour the soup on top of the fish

When the soup is half boiled, turn to high heat

When only half of the soup is left, turn off the heat and sprinkle minced garlic into the soup

Place the fish on a plate and pour the soup over it
