Steps
-
Soak mung beans in water for 24 hours.
-
The swollen and slightly sprouted mung beans are spread flat on the steamer. Use a microwave oven-specific steamer with small holes so that the beans will not leak out. The steamer with larger holes should be padded with a layer of cloth.
-
Cover the surface of the mung beans with a damp cotton towel or damp cloth. Pour water once in the morning and evening, and remember to pour out the water drained from the pot.
-
If the bean sprouts are placed in a kitchen cabinet (a dark place without light), they should not be exposed to light during the germination process. When exposed to light, the bean sprouts will turn red in color and taste bitter. The room temperature is about 26 degrees, and it will be almost ready in about 5 days.
