Lava Mashed Potatoes
Overview
Inspired by an example from my nephew's science experiment course for elementary school students. The volcanic eruption simulation experiment is the content of the second lesson of the third unit of the fifth grade volume of the new textbook "Topography Changes Caused by the Internal Movement of the Earth". It is an important link for students to understand and understand the internal movement of the Earth. The experimental example mentioned in the textbook: mashed potatoes are used as the mountain and tomato pulp is used as a magma simulation experiment. It is heated by an alcohol lamp and the tomato pulp overflows after being heated to simulate a volcanic eruption. Next, I will try it with delicious food~~

Ingredients
Steps
-
Material preparation: Peel potatoes, dice carrots and ham and set aside;
-
Cut the potatoes into hob pieces, add butter and mash them in the microwave until soft. Take them out and press them into mashed potatoes. Add an appropriate amount of salt, sugar and chicken essence to taste. (I was so anxious to take a picture of the finished product before the sun went down that I forgot to take a picture of the pressing process.);
-
Blanch vegetables and set aside;
-
Heat oil in the pan, stir-fry the shrimps and diced ham for a while, then add the diced vegetables and stir-fry together;
-
Add a little water and an appropriate amount of abalone juice to thicken the sauce (I have been using this abalone juice recently, but it tastes good and can be used as a thickener);
-
Stir-fry for a while and then take it out of the pot (because the ingredients are all cooked);
-
Take an angel cake chimney mold and place it upside down on an iron plate;
-
Around the hollow mold, pile the mashed potatoes prepared in the previous step into a hill shape;
-
Press the mashed potatoes tightly, take out the mold, and place the side dishes from step 6 around the mashed potato volcano;
-
Put homemade original tomato sauce into the hollow in the middle and fill it up;
-
Take a small amount of mashed potatoes and press into thin discs;
-
Cover the top with potato discs, press the edges lightly a few times until no gaps are visible, then sprinkle some fried white sesame seeds on top, and the mashed potato volcano is complete!

Next, I started experimenting. I took alcohol and started heating it underneath, fully expecting to witness the miracle. I waited and waited, and suddenly I saw one or two bubbles coming out of the top. I was overjoyed O(∩_∩)O~~ so I continued to wait, and waited, and waited. The alcohol was gone and there was still no lava coming out, but I found that The side of the volcano started to crack, so I put out the fire immediately, and the experiment ended in failure. But then I thought about it, I was cooking, and the experiment was secondary. If the experiment failed, then I would eat it. Use a fork to dig out the crater, and the lava could flow out. The next best thing, deliciousness comes first! ! !
