Oven version of Japanese potato croquette
Overview
Croquettes are one of the home-cooked dishes in Japanese families. Generally, Japanese croquettes need to be fried. But for the sake of health, I decided to use an oven instead of a fryer. Although the taste will be different, the taste is still great!

Cut the potatoes into small pieces, add enough water to boil, then turn to medium heat and cook until the potatoes break into pieces with chopsticks.

Drain the water, mash the potatoes into mashed potatoes, add milk, and stir until smooth.

Heat up the pan, add onion and stir-fry until translucent, add bacon and stir-fry until cooked.

Pour the meat into the mashed potatoes, stir, and season with appropriate amount of salt and black pepper.

Take a handful of mashed potatoes and shape them into oval-shaped potato cakes with your hands.

Coat the potato pancakes with flour, add egg liquid, roll a circle of bread flour, and place on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.

Place in an oven preheated to 180 degrees and bake for about 20 minutes, until the surface is golden brown. Serve hot with tomato sauce.
