In our local Nanyang, Henan, people dry dried radishes in a simple and crude way. In winter, when the radish harvest is abundant, they cut the radishes into slices and dry them in the sun or in a heated room. The dried radishes should be kept dry and ventilated and can be eaten for half a year. However, they need to be placed in the refrigerator during the summer, otherwise insects will grow. Radishes in winter are particularly cheap, costing no more than 30 cents per pound and only a few cents per pound. The cost of drying radishes is also extremely cheap.
